Extremadura on alert for the fire, to the fires of Las Hurdes and Monfragüe another one is added in Gata

The forest fires of Las Hurdes and Casas de Miravete remain “stable with reproductions” this Saturday, at level 2 of danger, with the possibility of dry storms in the area, while another has been declared in Torre de Don Miguel, in Gata , at level 1, and in which “evolution is good”.

However, as reported on social networks by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Territorial Planning, the members of the Fire Fighting Plan (INFOEX) remain on alert because “you cannot lower your guard”.

More than 200 troops are working on the Casas de Miravete fire, near Monfragüe, with 16 ground units and ten aerial units, with the support of the Andalusian Fire Fighting Plan (INFOCA), the Military Emergency Unit (UME), Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Provincial Council of Cáceres.

The fire is contained but there are three critical areas: the Corzo jump, the Miravete peak and the NV.

Likewise, in Las Hurdes, some 90 troops work, with six ground units, and three helicopters, and in Torre de Don Miguel, which was declared this afternoon, two units and troops from the UME.

The general director of Emergencies, Nieves Villar, has assured that it is being “a very hot day and the situation in the region is difficult”.

After a complicated night, 270 troops are working to combat the active fires in Extremadura and restore normalcy in the affected areas.

At this time, the inhabitants of ten population centers continue to be evacuated, Ladrillar, Cabezo, Las Mestas, Bautequilla, La Horcajada, Aceitunilla and Riomalo de Arriba, in Las Hurdes and Romangordo, Casas de Miravete and Higuera de Albalat in Monfragüe.
