The president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has advanced that Galicia will keep nightlife open, but will now force PCR tests, which will be free in the covid-auto, to people who want to go to a local in the cities with medium level of restrictions. The test will be 48 hours before. The protocol of the Galician Government, however, provides for the closure of pubs, discos and nightclubs in municipalities that are at medium, high or maximum level.
The other measure approved by the clinical committee is that the Xunta will ask the municipalities to seal off beaches and parks at night to avoid bottles.
Feijóo made these announcements shortly before the Minister of Health, Julio García Comesaña, appeared at a press conference to report on the details of the agreements adopted after the increase in COVID-19 cases, which have doubled in the last 10 days linked, above all, to infections among young people, who are still unvaccinated. The decisions come in the middle of the debate on nightlife, which the experts of the Alerts Report recommend closing. Some communities, like Catalunya, have already done it.
