The president of the Xunta and aspiring to lead the Spanish PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, gives his support to the agreement that his party has reached with Vox to govern in the Junta de Castilla y León: “It is perfectly legitimate.” In recent days, he has said, he has spoken several times with Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, who told him that he did not value the possibility of an electoral repetition. The decision has been attributed to the acting president of the Board, taken “in the exercise of his powers as a candidate, which he understood endorsed by the national executive committee.”
The PP puts the extreme right of Vox in the Government of Castilla y León
His argument is that Mañueco’s team had “no other options” to retain the Government in Castilla y León other than closing an agreement with Vox and including the extreme right in an executive for the first time. Since the electoral result was known, Feijóo opted to speak with all the forces and launched the request to the PSOE to facilitate the investiture.
