The beginning of the series made a pleasant impression on lovers of the successful franchise, and was also able to answer one of the great questions in history: how Boba Fett could survive al Sarlacc, a scene that appears in the remembered The Return of the Jedi.

Another striking aspect at the beginning of the story was the appearance of Fennec Shand, whom we had already seen in The Mandalorian Y The Bad Batch, and that he has the mission of accompanying Fett in all his adventures.

Who is Fennec Shand?

Until recently, we all believed that Boba Fett worked alone. However, in The Mandalorian We were able to observe that the most famous bounty hunter in the galaxy has a companion: Fennec Shand, played by actress Ming-Na Wen.

Shand is a skilled mercenary and bounty hunter who worked in major criminal syndicates in the era of the Galactic Empire.

After the fall of the Empire, many of this character’s employers ended up incarcerated by the New Republic, for which she had to escape to the planet Tatooine.

In this desert place, she was chased by Din Djarin and Toro Calican, who held her captive. However, Fennec Shand was rescued by Boba Fett.

Thus, as a form of appreciation and a show of loyalty, Shand began working with Fett as her partner.

Boba Fett may have felt empathy for his new partner, as he knows what it’s like to miraculously escape death. In this way, the extreme experiences that both had in the face of danger could have brought them closer.

One of their first jobs was to recover Fett’s armor, which was in Djarin’s hands after he had won it on Tatooine.

Subsequently, both Shand and Fett part ways with the Mandalorian and return to Tatooine, where they claim Jabba the Hutt’s former palace for themselves.

One of the elements that seduces both characters is that they are not typical criminals, despite the fact that their history might suggest so. They are not heroes either, at least that is how Ming-Na Wen defines it:

“It will be interesting to see its dynamics grow in The Book of Boba Fett. That’s all I can say until you see for yourself. They are not the bad guys. They are not the good guys either. We are the antiheroes. And I like that! I think that that way you can get away with more things, “the actress explained in an interview.

So far, the addition of Fennec Shand has been well received by fans of Star wars, who are excited to learn what other adventures both bounty hunters will have in the next chapters of The Book of Boba Fett.
