The Regional Ethics Commission of the PSOE of Extremadura has proclaimed this Sunday at 12 noon Guillermo Fernández Vara as secretary general of the party within the process initiated by the 13th Regional Congress, as no more candidates have been presented.
After having validated the necessary endorsements of the pre-candidacy presented by him, and having not formulated resources, the proclamation of the general secretary of the PSOE of Extremadura is made without the need for a vote.
The current secretary general has been since 2008 as the successor to Juan Carlos Rodríguez Ibarra, after being elected at the 10th Regional Congress. A position that was revalidated in 2012, in the 11th held in Cáceres and in 2017, in the 12th held in Mérida.
From the 22nd to the 24th of October, it will be the 13th congress, to designate a new regional direction to accompany Vara, who is also president of the Extremadura Board since 2015.
Fernández Vara will appear this Monday, September 19, at 11:30 hours at a press conference at the party’s regional headquarters in Mérida.
