FIFA 22 already has a launch date and a new trailer | Digital Trends Spanish

EA Sports released the first trailer new FIFA 22, which already has a release date: the game will be available on consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S and Nintendo Switch), PC and Stadia from October 1, 2022.

Two versions will be those that are put up for sale. The most basic version of FIFA 22 is the Standard Edition, which will cost $ 70 dollars on new generation consoles and $ 60 dollars on old consoles (PS4 and Xbox One). This edition includes the base game plus some pre-sale extras, mainly for FUT.

Instead, the version Ultimate Edition it will be more expensive and will cost $ 100. This version brings even more items to FUT and those who buy in advance will be able to play it four days before, starting on September 27. But more importantly, those who buy the Ultimate Edition On PS4 or Xbox One, they can upgrade at no extra cost to the next-generation version of the corresponding console (PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Series X or S).

In contrast, the Standard version cannot be upgraded free of charge and those who want to upgrade to the newer consoles will have to buy the game again.

Beyond the release date and details about the versions, the interesting thing about the announcement has to do with the new technology announced. Is about HyperMotion, an animation system based on a machine learning algorithm for which the movements of 22 players were captured on the field, playing in real time.

Until FIFA 21, the motion captures and animations were made with real soccer players, but in the context of plays recreated within a study, with a limited group of players. This resulted in fluid animations in general, but there were always some details left in the air as to how these animations were linked throughout the scenes of an in-game match.

A real-time artificial intelligence system could potentially change that. The machine learning algorithm analyzes more than 8 million video frames captured in an 11 versus 11 match and then generates the corresponding animations to make the matches look more organic, according to EA Sports.

It is worth mentioning that HyperMotion can be seen only in the FIFA 22 for PS5, Xbox Series X or S and Stadia; Everything indicates that the versions of PS4, Xbox One and Steam will be based on the current one FIFA 21. While, FIFA 22 on Nintendo Switch will be the call Legacy Edition, which is basically a version from several years ago with only the templates and uniforms being updated.

On the other hand, FIFA 22 promises to change other aspects of the gameplay such as the behavior of the goalkeepers, who will now have different styles of play and will not be a single generic goalkeeper with a different appearance as before. There will also be some readjustments to the street football Volta mode and for FIFA Ultimate Team fans, some cards called Ultimate Team Heroes from classic players will be added, including the Mexican Jorge Campos, the Spanish Fernando Morientes or the Argentine Diego Milito .

It is expected that, as every year, prior to the launch of the game a demo will be released. FIFA 22 will have, for the second consecutive edition, French striker Kylian Mbappé on the cover.
