EA SPORTS announced the return of the legendary Alberto J. Armando Stadium, better known as “La Bombonera”, to FIFA 23. Completely re-scanned and updated, the Boca Juniors Athletic Club stadium will make all football fans beat to the rhythm of its digital version in the same way as it does in real life.
“La Bombonera is one of the most famous and distinctive football stadiums in the world and we are excited that fans can experience it in FIFA 23 and beyond” said James Samon, Director of Marketing for EA SPORTS FIFA. “The integration of the Alberto J. Armando stadium, “La Bombonera”, allows us to continue delivering authentic and interactive immersive experiences for Boca Juniors and soccer fans.”
To celebrate the announcement, street artist Trueno shot an exclusive video in collaboration with EA SPORTS. Visiting La Bombonera, the Argentine rapper created unique freestyle rhymes commemorating the Ribera team. Boca Juniors players, Frank Fabra, “El Changuito” Zeballos, Luis Vázquez, Bianca Recanati, Camila Gómez Ares and Cecilia Ghigo, also participated in the filming.
“For me, returning to freestyle at La Bombonera is something very significant for what is the concept of my life and what I sing about. I am from Boca, the neighborhood of La Boca has a lot of the club. For me it was always a dream to sing at La Bombonera and to do it at home, in the middle of the field with the help of EA SPORTS is something that makes me very happy. Now I just want to play with Boca Juniors in FIFA 23, on the field of my childhood that we present today together with EA SPORTS to all the fans of the club”, commented Trueno.
For more than 82 years, the Alberto J. Armando Stadium, “La Bombonera”, has been the scene of countless exploits by some of the best players in history, such as Román, Maradona, Messi, and Pelé. Winning a match there is the dream of many professional players in Latin America and now it will be possible for EA SPORTS FIFA fans around the world.
“We are excited to have La Bombonera back in EA SPORTS FIFA 23. This is one of the most important stadiums in the world of football, and it is truly a pleasure that millions of fans can once again enjoy it in the game. It was an excellent idea to have this symbolic return by the hand of a renowned artist and a great fan of Boca such as Trueno, along with members of the professional women’s and men’s soccer teams. Without a doubt, FIFA 23 beats again.” said Federico Maques, Marketing Leader of Boca Juniors
