Final Fantasy 16: trailer shows a classic story | Digital Trends Spanish

A new trailer for the long-awaited Final Fantasy XVI shows that it not only shares a classic fantasy setting with games like final fantasy i, II, III and IX, but also a similar plot. The trailer, however, titled Ambitionalso teases an expansion of those old plotlines.

Final Fantasy 16 takes place in the land of Valisthea, which is shared by six uncomfortably peaceful factions: Rosaria, Sanbreque, Waloed, The Dhalmekian Republic, and The Iron Kingdom. Each of these kingdoms has taken parcels of land near one of Valistea’s six Mother Crystals. Now the rocky alliance of these powers is reeling thanks to the awakening of a latent threat.

As shown in previous trailers, players take control of Rosaria’s first son, Clive, who is on a mission to protect his younger brother Joshua, the controller of the Phoenix. This trailer shows that the journey will likely take the two of them and the rest of the group through the Realms, where they will face different leaders of power and their summons such as Odin and Ifrit shown.

final-fantasy XVI looks like it’s doing what Final Fantasy IX did for the series when it was first released. It looks like it will put the “fantasy” back into Final Fantasy thanks to its setting and story, similar to the first three games in the series. The classic elements are all here. A war between kingdoms, a new threat from another world, the MacGuffins crystal plot and many summons. Though it seems to be expanding on that idea by bringing in more exploration and combat, too.

Final Fantasy 16 It will be released in summer 2023 on PS5.
