Tipsuda Thavaramara, a former deputy secretary general of Thailand’s Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), has questioned the legitimacy of crypto taxation in the country.
According to a report by local newspaper The Nation, the former SEC chief’s comments come amid the Thai Department of Revenue’s decision to discuss taxes for cryptocurrency trading.

While praising the Department of Revenue’s decision to inform relevant agencies, Thavaramara said: “Whether the policies focus on promoting the trade industry or not, the Department of Revenue must collect taxes fairly under clear rules and practices.”
