Fans of science fiction and the literary saga of Isaac Asimov can be pleased. Apple has just confirmed that the Foundation series, inspired by the writer’s work, will have a second season on the Apple TV + platform.
The information was confirmed by the company in its website, where it was also noted that Jared Harris and Lee Pace will reprise their roles in these new episodes.
“We are very excited to see the global audience embrace the exciting, captivating and suspenseful journey that is Foundation “explained Matt Cherniss, Apple TV + head of programming.
“We know how long fans of Asimov’s beloved stories have waited to see his iconic work come to life as a visually spectacular series.”
The executive also added that David S. Gover will once again be in charge of production. A few days ago, Goyer himself pointed out that the second season would incorporate characters like Hober Mallow, Bel Riose and the Outer Suns.
“I am delighted that a whole new generation of fans is reading Asimov’s brilliant masterpiece. We are betting in the long term with Foundation and I am grateful to my partners at Apple and Skydance for entrusting me with this epic, “he added.
The Asimovs are also happy
The first chapters of Foundation are already available in the Apple streaming. So far, fans have been happy with the company’s project.
Robyn Asimov, executive producer and son of the writer, also highlighted the work done by Apple in this adaptation.
“David Goyer’s Foundation has exceeded all my expectations by bringing my father’s philosophy and ideas to the screen in ways my father could never have done while staying true to his work,” he noted.
So far, Apple has not revealed a possible date for the premiere of the second season of the hit series.
