The Tokyo Olympics begin on Friday, June 23 and, although they arrive a year late, they are postulated as one of the great entertainments of this summer. Despite the heat, it can be a good excuse to meet in the living room with our loved ones and enjoy a while of this classic competition.
Four speakers to enjoy leisure at home
If, in addition, we are the type of person who loves to consume this content, we may want to do it in the best possible way. Many of the televisions on the market have more than decent screens. From TCL, through Hisense to the well-known LG or Sony, almost all these alternatives are focus on delivering a great image.
But what about the sound? Except in very high-end devices, one of the great sacrifices in the design of these televisions is usually the speakers. Although no model usually brings a really bad sound equipment with itYes, they can leave a lot to be desired.
For this reason, sound bars are increasingly on the rise. In ConsumptionClear, we explain what they are, what you should look for when buying one and we offer some very interesting options in the value for money.
Why a sound bar
The first thing is to know what a sound bar is and why we might be interested in one. These peripherals are a team of speakers focused, specifically, on greatly improving the sound experience of our televisions. Because of their shape, which is usually rectangular, they receive this name.
Regarding why: as we have said before, the sound is usually treated with mediocrity in most TV models and the differences between low and low ranges medium-high are hardly noticeable.
Users who love movies, series, music or multimedia content in general, may want to improve that aspect of their televisions. Especially if they seek to obtain an immersive and high-quality experience.
What must be considered
If we start looking for sound bars, we will quickly realize that there are an immense number of options. But what should we look at?
– Speakers. Sound bars are nothing more than a cluster of speakers prepared to imitate the old ones Home Cinema. There are models 2.1, 5.1, 7.1, etc. -a 7.1.4 model indicates that the soundbar has 7 speakers, 1 subwoofer and 4 speakers directed towards the ceiling -.
As the number increases, these teams become more expensive. So we must take into account what we want to achieve on our television: whether a good quality sound or an absolutely immersive experience.
– Subwoofer. There are models with and without a subwoofer – a speaker in charge, normally, of emitting the bass. If we are going to consume movies, series, video games, etc. and we want a really good result, then we will need one.
If we are simply looking for a device to be able to listen well and we do not care so much how the bass sounds, then we can do without it.
– Power. Most soundbars come with a recommended maximum distance, why?
The power of these equipment greatly affects its result: if the bar does not have the power to emit the sound well in our room, then we will not have the desired effect. We also have to think about our neighbors: a much more powerful one can become a nuisance.
– Placement and room. Sound bars mimic Home Cinema using, among other things, walls and ceilings to bounce sound. It is very important to know what space we want to dedicate to this peripheral, especially since it will always have to be in front of the viewer.
It is also recommended that the space has as few obstacles as possible, as it will greatly affect how it is heard.
– Additional features. Some sound bars have a WiFi connection and even compatibility with systems like Alexa or Google Assistant; also with Bluetooth connectivity. All these types of extras can increase the price.
Therefore, you have to think about whether we are going to use them or not.
