Gen3: the most modern and fastest car in Formula E | Digital Trends Spanish

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) wants the Formula E continue to take flight as the great modern category of nut sport, mainly because of the cleanliness of electric cars, their efficiency and their safety. For this reason, they now presented the Gen3, which they say is the fastest car in the competition.

Formula E itself qualifies it as “the most efficient racing car in the world” to date. Now, we’re seeing one for the first time on a track at England’s Goodwood in the form of the Mahinda M9 Electro with Nick Heidfeld at the wheel.

The new M9Electro, according to Mahindra, is the fastest, lightest and most powerful electric racing vehicle ever created by the racing team. It is 60kg lighter than its predecessor and has 100kW more power. This brings the total power to about 350 kW. Therefore, this single-seat electric car has a top speed of 322 km/h, as well as being exceptionally efficient.

Mahindra Racing claims that the car is capable of producing up to 40% of its electricity using a regenerative braking system. The Gen3 vehicles are the first Formula E cars to feature front and rear drivetrains. With that, it is one of the first Formula E cars to have hydraulic rear brakes.
