The company’s third consecutive quarter of record sales reflects growth in advertising across Google services, including Internet search, email and YouTube video, since the pandemic made hybrid working and e-commerce commonplace in much of the world.
With these figures, the company generates more income from Internet ads than any other company. Google had also said it lost some sales in the third quarter as companies that ran out of products cut back on marketing and new iPhone privacy measures reduced its ability to track users online.
The company also announced on Tuesday a 20-share split that would take place in July, if approved by shareholders.
