Guatemala confirms the extradition of Luis Enrique Martinelli to the United States this Monday, November 15

The Guatemalan judicial authorities confirmed the extradition of the Panamanian, Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares to the United States (USA) for this Monday, November 15 at 12:00 m. (1:00 pm Panama time).

The announcement came after US Embassy personnel on November 5. In Guatemala, he went to the Mariscal de Zavala Military Base jail to take his picture and process a passport for his extradition process to New York. Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares was captured with his brother Ricardo Martinelli

Linares on July 6, 2020 at La Aurora Airport in Guatemala, when apparently they were heading to Panama.

Both are being held in the Mariscal Zavala Military Base jail due to the extradition request presented by the US government. due to his participation in the alleged crime of money laundering in the United States financial system, a case related to illegal payments to Panamanian public officials by the construction company Odebrecht, during the period of government of his father, the former president of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli.
