HBO Extends House of the Dragon Showrunner Contract | Digital Trends Spanish

They say that the creative mind of Ryan Condal has been fundamental to the success of House of the Dragonand is that the showrunner of the prequel series of game of Thrones had the challenge of bringing to fruition the work of George RR Martin, something that HBO has rewarded with an extension of his contract.

Deadline assures that the possibility of extending House of the Dragon for more seasons opens the way with this gesture. The show is now averaging 29 million viewers per episode in the United States.

«Ryan Condal is a singular talent. He has a magnificent ability to tell stories, build worlds and shape characters, as well as a deep passion and respect for the George RR Martin universe,” said Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of Series and Dramatic Movies at HBO. “The years we have spent collaborating with him on House of the Dragon have affirmed our desire to expand our partnership with him now and for years to come.”

“When I picked up that paperback copy of ‘A Game of Thrones’ over two decades ago, I wasn’t even sure I was going to make it as a screenwriter,” Condal said. Finding myself here, having co-created a series set in Westeros, is almost thoughtless. I am incredibly lucky. I am grateful to George RR Martin for believing in me and to HBO for trusting me. I’m thrilled to partner with HBO to tell the next chapter in the Targaryen saga, and I hope it’s just one of many to come.”
