The younger generations are the ones who spend the most time connected to the internet. This is a constant concern for parents, who cannot get their children to take their eyes off the screen.
Sometimes this desperation on the part of parents can reach unfortunate extremes.
Wanting to control how long his children spent online, a French father ended up shutting down an entire city.
According to the medium France Bluethis event would have occurred in the city of Messanges, when a man used a multi-waveband inhibitor to temporarily cut off the internet connection of his home.
The problem was that the jamming device used was so powerful that it ended up leaving the entire town offline.
The intention of this person was to cut the connection during the night, between midnight and three in the morning, precisely when their children were most connected to social networks.
However, the next morning, it was his own neighbors who reported this problem.
The father was arrested and questioned by the police, since this type of device is prohibited in France.
“He was thinking of depriving his children of the internet and did not imagine that the wave jammer he was using would disrupt telecommunications in an area that encompasses two municipalities. An investigation by the National Frequencies Agency determined his responsibility and legal actions were initiated, ”the article states.
Now, the man risks serving a sentence of six months in prison and will have to pay a fine of 30 thousand euros.
