The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), dependent on the Ministry of Health, has ordered the withdrawal of batch 499R of the drug against arterial hypertension Enalapril Alter 20 mg TABLETS EFG, 28 tablets.
The reason is that in the assessment tests, and more specifically in the studies of hardness and related substances, a result has been produced that does not meet the specifications. What is Enalapril and what is it used for?
As can be read on the AEMPS website, this medication “contains enalapril maleate. Enalapril belongs to a group of medicines known as ACE inhibitors, which work by widening blood vessels. The effect of these medicines is to lower your blood pressure.
Specifically, medicines in this group are known as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors), which work by dilating blood vessels to make it easier for the heart to pump blood to all parts of the body.
