Hospitalizations with COVID and deaths drop while the incidence in people over 60 years of age is below 200 cases

The indicators of hospitalizations, deaths and transmission of the coronavirus continue to decline in Spain. The Ministry of Health has notified this Friday a notable decrease in COVID cases when registering 8,463 new ones, a figure far removed from the 12,162 in Tuesday’s report. With the new cases since the start of the pandemic, a total of 13,314,764 people in the country would have been infected.

By autonomies, Madrid is the one that reports the most cases, with 1,061 infections, followed by Catalonia (1,029) and the Valencian Community (976).

How is the epidemic evolving and how are we regarding the 3rd wave?

As for hospitalized people, a decrease can also be observed, since 4,542 have been registered, compared to the 5,138 admitted patients on Tuesday. The number of cases in the ICU has also decreased, going from 354 to 303 this Friday.




Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, 112,128 deaths from COVID have been reported. In this last report, Health has notified 195 deceased.




The ministry led by Carolina Darias has indicated that the incidence in those over 60 has also decreased compared to last Tuesday, going from 246.45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to the current 195.17.
