Requirements to volunteer in Qatar 2022
Applications are open to residents from around the world, who can have any level of experience. However, speaking English is one of the requirements.
On the other hand, if you happen to have knowledge of Arabic, you should know that it is considered an advantage in this case, but it is not an essential requirement.
Applicants must also be 18 years of age by October 1, 2022 and be able to commit to a minimum of 10 full days for the cup.
According to FIFA, the Volunteer Program is especially looking for “reliable people who know how to solve problems, have interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly”.
Works in which the Qatar 2022 volunteers will collaborate
While the World Cup will take place between November 21 and December 18 this year, some volunteer duties will start on October 1.
Behind the scenes, it will take many hands to support the fabric of FIFA’s main event and provide fans with the best possible experience. Therefore, there will be plenty of action to enjoy and various tasks to collaborate on, as 64 matches of Qatar 2022 will take place.
According to FIFA statementthe chosen volunteers will be at the center of the tournament’s operations, collaborating “in 45 functional areas in official and unofficial venues such as the stadiums, the training fields, the airport, the fan zones, the hotels and the transport stations public”.
It is worth mentioning that the selected volunteers will receive training and will obtain a limited edition Adidas uniform. They will also be provided with meals and have free access to public transportation during their shifts.
How to Apply to Volunteer in Qatar 2022
According to the official announcement, to request to be part of the program you must enter the website of the FIFA dedicated to volunteers.
There, you must create an account by providing an email and creating a password, and then receive a confirmation message with a link that must be clicked to continue with the process.
The next step is to complete your profile. There you must provide three different types of data: personal information, education and experience, and official documents. The latter refers to passport and driver’s license data if you want a driver role during volunteering. They will also ask you for information about COVID-1 vaccines.
Finally, you must enter a profile photo that must meet the following requirements:
- High-quality, passport-style color photograph with a clear view of the face and eyes (black and white or blurred photographs will not be accepted).
- Neutral expression, looking directly at the camera.
- The background should be a single neutral color (white or light gray).
- The photo must be in jpeg, jpg or png format and must not exceed 4 MB.
- The scanned images must be of high quality and clear.
If your application is approved, you will be able to continue through the following stages of the process: evaluation, interview, role offer, tournament time, uniform and accreditation, training and shift selection.
