Hyundai Gives Us A Look At Its Next Elantra N | Digital Trends Spanish

Hyundai just shared a couple of preview images of its next Elantra N, the sports version of the elegant compact sedan of the Korean brand, the Hyundai Elantra. The photos do not show much, as is often the case with this type of intrigue image, but its purpose, which is to create expectation and intrigue for the arrival of the new vehicle, is well served by the two photographs. What better proof than reading this article?

With the arrival of the Elantra N, and the upcoming N version of the Kona crossover, the line of sporty handling models decorated with Hyundai’s N emblem increases to a total of three vehicles including the current Veloster N coupe, the only N model. that can be purchased at this time at dealerships of the brand. Hyundai offers sporty-looking but regular powertrain ‘N Line’ versions of its Tucson, Elantra, Sonata, and Veloster models.

One of the images shows a detail of the left front fender with a clear and detailed view of an alloy wheel wrapped by a low profile tire behind which a red brake caliper with the N logo peeks out. The other is a rear view three-quarter back cut in half. Both photographs are as sparse in detail about the model as the accompanying press release itself.

Rumor has it, however, that the engine compartment cover will cover a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle transmission, or a 6-speed manual. Hyundai fans may have noticed by now that this is a similar powertrain to the Veloster N so we should at least expect 275 horsepower. But for now these are just rumors, which will be confirmed or denied at the time of the model launch.

Till Wartenberg, vice president of the N brand management and motorsports subdivision at Hyundai Motor Company said the new Elantra N had been designed “to be a race-proven sports car with dynamic driving capabilities and styling that motor racing enthusiasts will appreciate. performance they adore.

Nobody expects the appearance of the Elantra N to be discreet. Rather, we think that rather than hint at it, the new model will likely scream its higher level of performance.

Hyundai announced that the model will feature eye-catching design side sills exclusive to the version, which help increase performance by improving the vehicle’s aerodynamics, create the visual effect of a lower chassis, and arrive painted in a striking red color. We will also see a rear wing, a practically mandatory accessory in this type of vehicle, exclusive to the model that according to Hyundai “increases driving stability at high speeds”, which is precisely the reason why these spoilers exist. The Elantra N will also feature a dual exhaust, something that is also de rigueur in sports cars.

Hyundai promised to reveal more details on the Elantra N in the coming weeks. We will be eagerly waiting.
