Inspiration4: the crew that will make history in space | Digital Trends Spanish

This Wednesday, September 15, the SpaceX company will make history by launching the first civilian mission into space. This means that there will be no professional astronauts on board.

The four passengers are part of the company’s efforts to show that space, in some way, can be for everyone. Thus, the title they have chosen for this mission is Inspiration4.

Behind this project is Jared Isaacman, a billionaire who commissioned the mission and paid all the expenses. He also invited three anonymous people to join him on this adventure.

Isaacman will be the commander of the flight. He is 38 years old, from the United States and has been the founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments, a company that he created in the basement of his home at the age of 16.

He considers himself a fan of space exploration and in 2012 he founded a training academy for pilots of the Air Force of his country.

Hayley Arceneaux

Something curious that happens with this mission is that each seat represents something. Thus, for example, Isaacman’s place represents leadership, while Arceneaux’s place does the same with hope.

The 29-year-old will be the youngest American to orbit the planet and the first person with a prosthesis to travel into space.

Arceneaux was treated as a child for bone cancer and now works in the hospital where she remained as a medical assistant.

Sian Proctor

Your seat represents prosperity, you were awarded it by creating a space-related online sales site.

He teaches geology at an Arizona school and his father works at the POT. In fact, the 51-year-old woman participated in a life simulation experiment on Mars and twice applied to the agency to become an astronaut.

Chris Sembroski

He is part of the aeronautical industry working for the Lockheed Martin company. He is 42 years old and fought in Iraq.

He was chosen after making a donation to the ST Hospital. Jude, so your position represents generosity.

On the mission, your task will be to help with cargo handling and communications with Earth.
