The top leader of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, came out quickly to the step of the criticism that the influencers Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian they made about how Meta’s social network is becoming more and more like TikTok and shedding its initial essence of just sharing photos.
In a video, Mosseri delivered the bad news to the influencers:

“I need to be honest. I think more and more of instagram will turn to video over time,” Mosseri said.
The app will continue to support photos, but Mosseri says moving away from them is driven by user behavior. Sharing and watching videos is growing, and “we’re going to have to lean into that change.”
On the other hand, the online petition associated with Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian has more than 100,000 signatures from people who also believe that Instagram should only be a photo app, and not focus on reels and videos.
