Insurama continues its international expansion in Portugal

The Spanish company, a benchmark for innovation in the insurance world, continues to export its business model, based on satisfying the real demands of customers. With only 3 years of life and despite the pandemic, Insurama plans its international expansion to two more countries in the remainder of 2021 and in January 2022

The insurtech Spanish Insurama has started operating in Portugal, offering its services in more than 30 stores, located in the main cities of the Portuguese territory.

Insurama has revolutionized the insurance model by offering affordable products, easy to contract and focused on the needs and satisfaction of customers, it extends its formula to Portugal, through its agreement with Xiaomi and other distributors (also present in the Portuguese country) for the sale of mobile, laptop and multi-device insurance, as well as their repairs.

In this way, the Spanish company expands its insurance model to the rest of the Iberian Peninsula, which covers the entire insurance cycle, with partners at all points in the chain (from marketing to repair at point of sale) and responding immediately to the needs of the client through all possible channels, both conventional, such as the telephone, to digital (social networks, email, web).

Sergio balsa, CEO of Insurama, believes that this landing in Portugal represents “one more step when it comes to evangelizing Insurama’s differential value proposition, with its technological capabilities and contributing its winning products to the Portuguese retail world”. A model and a technological platform that are “100% customer centric“, According to Balsa, implanted” in a market as similar and at the same time as different as the Portuguese one.

Before starting to operate in Portugal, Insurama already began its international expansion in Italy, last August. And it plans to start operating in Mexico and Chile in the coming months.

An expansion that, in the words of Miguel Aldálur Grien, Group Chief Sales Officer of Insurama: “it is the confirmation that our business model, technology and management, in direct business (B2C) and through Distribution Partners (B2B2C), have a wide margin to expand and respond to a real demand from the insurance market ”.

In just three years, the company competes directly with the big insurers. In 2020 alone it has increased its ebitda by 47% and revenues by 789% compared to 2019. This rapid growth has attracted the attention of investors who, in a round led by Inveready and his own management team, contributed 5 million euros, which will be used to continue the expansion of the company, both within and outside of Spain.
