In order to stimulate the country’s tourism industry, the organizing committee of Exhibitions and Events of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (Cciap), with the support of the Tourism Promotion Fund (Promtur Panama), Copa Airlines and Panama Convention Center officially presented the eleventh edition of International Tourism Expo 2022, which will take place on March 25 and 26 at the Panama Convention Center, located in Amador.
Expo Turismo Internacional, the main tourism fair in Panama, will take place next year in parallel with Expocomer and Expo Logística Panamá. Both events, scheduled to take place from March 23 to 26 at the same fairgrounds, according to the press release of the Cciap.
José Ramón Icaza, president of the Cciap, highlighted that “Tourism is a sector that generates thousands of jobs, in addition, it has multiplier effects in the other headings of the national economy ”.
In that sense, he explained that the Cciap through International Tourism Expo seeks to offer significant support to local companies in this market with the intention of providing them the possibility of participating as exhibitors, where the Cciap will assume part of the costs and they will assume another in order to support the reactivation of this sector. In addition to this, member companies will have an additional discount.
For its part, Jorge Juan de la Guardia, president of the Cciap Exhibition and Events Commission, expressed “Expo Turismo Internacional is the annual meeting point for tourism service providers and wholesalers. A special emphasis will be placed on attracting buyers from the United States and Europe, to whom from entering the fairgrounds we will offer an experiential moment in which they experience the Panamanian offer first-hand ”.
In addition, he noted that “The companies that participate as exhibitors will have the opportunity to present, during the two days of exhibition, packages so that they can promote them both to national tourists and international visitors ”.
While, Monique de Saint Malo, president of the Organizing Committee of Expo Turismo International 2022, indicated that This exhibition aims to promote the growth of the tourism industry in the countryFurthermore, it seeks that exhibitors and buyers take advantage of the opportunity to establish business contacts with wholesalers, tour operators interested in the Latin American tourist offer and conference organizers, among others, under the same roof.
Also present during the launch were: Fernando Duque, president of the Board of Directors of Promtur Panamá and Iván Eskildsen, administrator of the Tourism Authority (ATP).
De Saint Malo announced that the exhibition will be focused mainly on buyers in the “MICE”(Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions / Events- acronym in English), that is, all those associated with tourism for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and events. But there will also be an important space for buyers focused on leisure activities, leisure travel, to see our offer.
International Tourism Expo 2022, will have more than 120 exhibition modules, in addition, expects to receive the participation of more than 150 buyers that will be distributed in the fairgrounds Panama Convention Center, which has approximately 4,200 square meters, where some 2,000 visitors will interact for two days.
So far they have shown interest in participating as exhibitors and business buyers from America and Asia, from the countries of Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Indonesia, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic and Indonesia, among other countries represented by different airlines.
Also, in these display modules, There will be national and international companies specialized in different areas of Tourism, such as: airlines, Ministries of Tourism, tour operators, hotels and other lodging establishments (beach resorts, sports, jungle and mountains), Convention bureau, travel agencies and shopping centers, among others.
In this tourist exhibition an ecosystem of educational and cultural activities will be offered which will complement the other components of the fair, such as the exhibition area, business appointments between exhibitors and buyers, and post-tours for international buyers.
Business meetings between exhibitors and buyers Internationals will take place on Friday, March 25.
