With the new Universal Control feature, Apple is now making available iOS 15.4, the latest version of the operating system for your iPhone phone. The news coincides with the launch of the third generation of the iPhone SE, among other innovations of the Apple Spring Event 2022.
The edition provides Face ID recognition with face masks on iPhone 12 and newer, as well as to use Apple Pay and autofill passwords in apps and in the Safari browser.
As detailed by the company, it also adds new emojis with faces, hand gestures and household objects, while the handshake emoji allows you to choose a different skin tone for each limb.
For users of face time, Apple provides the option to start SharePlay sessions from supported apps. Siri is now able to report the time and date offline on iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 or later.
Another plus of iOS 15.4 is the support of the European COVID-19 digital certificate in the Health app, which offers to download and store verifiable versions of vaccinations, laboratory results and recovery certificates. Likewise, the cards in Wallet are now compatible with the format of the European digital certificate.
However, the most resounding innovation is Universal Control, which is part of iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3. The functionality allows other devices to be used as second screens. That is, tablets and computers registered under the same iCloud account can be controlled with a single mouse or keyboard.
