During the Community Work Tour carried out in the province of Chiriquí, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizor, and the Executive Director of the Panamanian Autonomous Cooperative Institute (Ipacoop), Edwin Navarro, delivered legal status to three new cooperatives and financing for $11,216.00.
The new cooperatives are: Cooperative of S/M of Mi Finca, the Cooperative of S/M Tierras Altas y RL and the Cooperative of S/M Acuícola Gualaqueña, RL
While the Fishing Cooperative Development Pesqueros, RL received a financing of $11,216.00, from the Cooperative Development Fund (Fondecoop).
Navarro announced that the new cooperatives will be given a Seed Capital of $2,000.00.
He also highlighted that the three new cooperatives are headed by women.
For its part, the Fishing Cooperative Development Pesqueros, RL will use the financing of $11,216.00, for the development of a pilot program for raising fish in cages, a project that will generate new income, sources of employment and will be replicated in other parts of the country.
The Provincial Director of Chiriquí, Jose Luis Bandini He stressed that they have been working closely with the cooperatives to provide them with all the support and training they require.
The three new cooperatives have among their activities the production and marketing of agricultural and aquacultural products, and includes direct sales to consumers.
