A lot of people take to Apple for designing nice but expensive devices that are almost completely good. When compared to other competitors’ products, something is often missing. Jabra, on the other hand, has a great reputation for making functional, yet less flashy items that can appear more utilitarian and much like its competition.

Price

Let’s eliminate the price issue early on, as that’s where a lot of decisions are made. After all, as much fun as it is to spend your rental money on good headphones, it’s just not practical.

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro are priced at $ 199, while the Apple AirPods Pro will cost you slightly more, $ 249. It really is not much of a difference, you can think at first.

Winner– It’s always good to save a little money, so we’ll give the price trophy to Jabra.

Battery duration

How important battery life is to you will depend on how you use your headphones. Commuters or commuters may want to worry less about recharging, but if you wear your hearing aids only for an occasional conference call or hour-long workout, you may be less concerned about draining the battery. For this comparison, we will look at the listening time.

AirPods Pro give you up to 4.5 hours of listening time on a single charge, and you can get an additional 30 minutes with active noise cancellation and transparency mode off.

Charging the case will provide an additional 24 hours, perfect for the traveler we mentioned. Plus, AirPods Pro fast charging will provide 1 hour of listening time after just 5 minutes in the case.

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro, on the other hand, offer you almost double the listening time with 8 hours on the battery of your headphones and another 30 hours in the case. A 5 minute quick charge also gives the Jabra Elite up to 1 hour of playtime.

WinnerThis comparison also has a clear winner: the Jabra Elite 7 Pro give you more battery life for your money.

Sound and call quality

Apple AirPods Pro in its case.

Even the most durable wireless headphones will only get you so far if the sound quality is poor.

Apple has touted the quality and special audio features of the AirPods Pro (have you heard about Spatial Audio?). The AirPods Pro certainly sound good and are well balanced, providing solid audio across multiple listening experiences.

Still, we found the sound quality to be much better on the Elite 7 Pro. This is true across all frequencies, but it’s especially noticeable at the low end where they deliver bigger, warmer and punchier bass – something you just don’t get. with AirPods Pro.

You also get a lot more EQ options with the Jabra Elite 7 Pro, while Apple’s AirPods Pro simply let you choose from some rather mediocre EQ and sound presets.

When it comes to the quality of calls, in quiet environments they are very similar, but the Elite 7 Pro keeps your voice much clearer, especially when competing with external sounds or wind.

Winner– The Jabra Elite 7 Pro are back at the top, thanks to better bass, better call quality in difficult environments and more customization options.

Noise and transparency cancellation mode

Both the Jabra Elite 7 Pro and the Apple AirPods Pro have noise cancellation and an ambient listening mode, although with a different name. AirPods Pro have Transparency mode, while Jabra calls it HearThrough.

Active noise cancellation (ANC) is the act of using algorithms to digitally listen to and erase unwanted noise that leaks out. Transparency mode, or HearThrough, allows you to let in background noise that you may want to hear, allowing you to be aware of the bell, children or traffic if you are a runner or cyclist.

When it comes to noise cancellation, we think the Jabra Elite 7 Pro are better here too, they seem to process unwanted signals better and are therefore quieter than the AirPods Pro.

However, when it comes to transparency mode versus HearThrough, we’ll hand the crown here to the AirPods Pro, which made it much easier to hear that outside noise more clearly.

So the function that seems most important to you (the cone of silence or being aware of when the dog is in the trash again) will make a difference here.

Winner: tie

Design and fit

As mentioned in the introduction, Jabra headphones tend to be a bit more utilitarian, so we can probably say that if we judge headphones based on looks, Apple wins.

Jabra hearing aids are definitely meant to deliver quality and features over form and design. As for how they fit together, the Elite 7 Pro are quite safe and comfortable, even after long listening sessions.

However, the smooth, rounded and smooth plastic shape of the AirPods Pro allows the earbuds to float gently, but firmly in your ears without applying pressure. They are so comfortable that you forget you are wearing them. The downside is that they don’t feel as safe in the ear as the Elite 7 Pro.

Winner– We will give this vote to Apple, as the overall design, fit, and safety meet all the requirements.

Durability

We can say with certainty, having reviewed numerous Jabra headsets, that each one is like a little tank; they feel extremely well made, durable, and have served us well through multiple drops, spills, and various mishaps.

Similarly, while they seem to be a bit more delicate, we’ve also had moments of uncertainty with the AirPods Pro being round and slippery. Both the Jabra and AirPods Pro continue to perform well. That is the anecdotal answer.

When it comes to specs, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro are rated IP57 while the Apple AirPods Pro are IPX4; the difference is that the Elite Pro could be considered water and dust resistant, even after full immersion, and the AirPods are rather water resistant only.

Winner: this is a no-brainer. If you need headphones that are more durable for all kinds of situations, you should choose the Jabra Elite 7 Pro.

conclusion

Here’s a clear winner. When it comes to price, sound and call quality, battery life, and overall durability, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro stands out.

Winner: Jabra Elite 7 Pro
