Jurassic World Dominion actors give away 200 laptops | Digital Trends Spanish

Just before the premiere of the new movie that concludes the Jurassic era, actors DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie surprised more than 200 Miami-area students during a private screening of the new production Jurassic World Dominion.

Universal Pictures and Comcast NBCUniversal launched the initiative Jurassic World Rule Your Future STEAMwhich strengthens the preparation and digital skills in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics of students who are low-income or who will be the first generation of their family to go to university.

Little guests from organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami and Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade bussed into the theater, received sodas and popcorn, and had the chance to be among the first in America to enjoy the sixth installment of the Jurassic franchise.

At the end of the screening, event host Jorge Bernal from Telemundo welcomed actors DeWanda Wise and Mamoudou Athie, who announced a great gift for all children and young people in attendance: more than 200 laptops as part of the Jurassic initiative. World Rule Your Future STEAM.

DeWanda Wise, who plays pilot Kayla Watts, inspired students with a story from her youth in which she told how being able to access and learn to use technology opened doors for her and helped land her first job. In addition, Mamoudou Athie who plays Ramsay Cole, director of communications at BioSyn, mentioned the importance of preparing academically and exploring different options until we really find what we are passionate about in life.

The event ended with a group photo, with smiles, emotions, illusions and dreams to build. Jurassic World Dominion opens in theaters in the United States this Friday, June 10and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who are joined by the original Jurassic Park cast Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill.

Jurassic World Rule Your Future STEAM is a national initiative backed with $1.5 million dollars which includes three 10-hour STEAM classes designed by education professionals with support from Jurassic World Dominion experts. This initiative is expanding to provide free access to curriculum at additional programs such as the COE TRIO, Internet Essentials, and other Comcast Lift Zone locations.

Content is based on key themes from the Jurassic World franchise, including paleontology, animatronics, and DNA, offering students an exciting hands-on experience to develop the skills needed to pursue non-traditional STEAM careers. Additionally, each of the three units begins with a video introduction from Jurassic World Dominion actors: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and DeWanda Wise.
