Kevin Conroy, legendary voice of the animated Batman, dies | Digital Trends Spanish

The world of animation is in mourning, since this Friday, November 11, the death of Kevin Conroy, the historic voice of the Batman animated, especially in the series Batman: The Animated Series (1992-96).

Conroy was 66 years old and although the causes of his death have not been given, it is indicated that it could be due to a fight against cancer.

The interpreter would voice the Dark Knight in nearly 60 different productions, including 15 movies and more than 15 animated series spanning nearly 400 episodes and more than 100 hours of television.

Actress Diane Pershing, who voiced Poison Ivy, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook: “Very sad news: our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, passed away yesterday. He’s been sick for a while, but he really put in a lot of time on the cons, to the delight of all his fans. He will be greatly missed not only by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans around the world.”

Conroy also voiced Batman in dozens of video games and appeared as a live-action Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse’s 2019-20 “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event.

“Kevin was perfection,” said Mark Hamill, who voiced the Joker opposite Conroy’s Batman. “He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and he loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him: his decency shone through in everything he did. Every time I saw him or talked to him, my spirits lifted.”

His career as a voice actor took off withBatman: The Animated Serieswhich debuted on September 5, 1992. Conroy’s association with the Dark Knight would continue with BatmanBeyondand Justice League/ Justice League Unlimited, Batman: the Killing Joke, Batman: Gotham Knight, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero Y Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman.
