Kim Kardashian promotes suspected scam cryptocurrency | Digital Trends Spanish

A publication of the influencer Kim Kardashian has alerted British authorities to what may be a cryptocurrency scam.

In a post in the website of the Financial Conduction Authority (Financial Conduct Authority, or FCA), its director Charles Randall revealed that last June, Kim Kardashian carried out what was possibly “the financial publicity with the largest audience reach in history.”

The latter, because Kardashian has 250 million followers on Instagram, to whom he introduced the so-called Ethereum Max, a speculative currency that is not exactly the same as Ethereum.

Randall explains in her post that while Kim Kardashian complied with Instagram’s rules of indicating when these posts are paid ads, she had no obligation to make Ethereum Max transparent, “a speculative digital currency that was created just a month before the publication, by unknown developers ”.

According to Charles Randall, it cannot be said that Ethereum Max is a scam, but there have been cases where a influencers they are paid to “promote currencies that don’t even exist.”

“There are many stories of people who lose all their savings when they are attracted to the cryptocurrency bubble under the illusion of getting rich quick,” explains Randall, “and sometimes this happens thanks to influencers who are willing to betray their fans in exchange for money. “

Kim Kardashian has not been the only one influencer in promoting this coin. Also characters like boxer Floyd Mayweather and former basketball player Paul Pierce have been shown making announcements about Ethereum Max. A currency that, according to the FCA, is not covered or regulated by the body “and those who buy them, must be prepared to lose all their money,” according to Charles Randall.
