La Salle takes the abuses at his school in Premià de Mar to the Prosecutor’s Office

The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (La Salle) has communicated this Thursday to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Barcelona Court of the appearance of new victims of the former teacher of La Salle de Premià de Mar (Barcelona) Jesús Linares so that it can investigate if there has been commission of crimes and establish responsibilities.

The lawyer Carles Monguilod, who directs the legal advice of La Salle in Spain, has transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office the information published by elDiario.es in a joint investigation with El Periódico de Catalunya, with the testimony of seven former students of La Salle de Premià who report new abuses allegedly committed by the brother of the congregation Jesús Linares in the 70s and 80s at that school.

The person in charge of institutional relations at La Salle, Isabel Llauger, explained to Efe that, upon learning of the facts through the press, the Prosecutor’s Office had been informed “to initiate an investigation” and to have their full collaboration in providing all the information that they have with the investigation that La Salle opened ten days ago upon learning of the abuse complaints made by the writer Alejandro Palomas.

He has also asked victims of abuse to contact La Salle in order to verify their cases, ask for their forgiveness and establish possible reparations for the damage caused.

For his part, Palomas had already brought the case before the courts, so this route will prevail over any other that the Prosecutor’s Office may open.
