Polling stations open
At 9:00 a.m. this Sunday, May 28, the polling stations throughout Spain have opened. Throughout the country, more than 35 million people are called to vote, in 12 autonomous communities and around 8,100 town halls on a day marked by atmospheric instability, with rain and stormy showers in almost the entire country.
The polling stations will remain open until 8:00 p.m., when the counting of votes and the subsequent scrutiny will begin. At 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the afternoon, the progress of participation will be known, with the latest and final data at the close of the polls.
The results of these elections are going to have a national reading ahead of the year-end elections, with an eye on places like the Valencian Community, where the right is going to try to unseat the left after eight years in government.

the topics of the day
Good morning! The 28M election day begins, where the inhabitants of 12 autonomous communities and around 8,100 consistories throughout the country are called to vote. We leave you here some keys that you should not miss:
-The 28M tests the mobilization of the left in the most disputed municipal and regional elections: this Sunday municipal and regional elections are held in Spain. The results will have a national reading ahead of the year-end elections. The collapse of Ciudadanos and the transfer of votes to the PP allow those of Feijóo to be in a position to agree with Vox a good part of the territories governed by the left, which measures their state of mind after one of the dirtiest electoral campaigns that has taken place. remember.
–CHRONICLE | Sánchez and Feijóo measure forces in a first electoral assault that will condition their strategies before the general ones, by Esther Palomera: the PSOE goes to the 28M convinced that “in the general framework its brand remains strong”, the PP, fearful that there will not be a single government that it can take away if it is not with the votes of Vox and the alternative left, worried about the future of Podemos.
-CHRONICLE | We are already Americans in politics. Make yourself comfortable, it won’t be pretty, by Iñigo Sáenz de Ugarte: the first major campaign of 2023 summarizes the worst of the legislature to the point that the PP has no objection to using the fraud in Melilla to spread suspicion over the entire electoral system Spanish.
-The Valencian Community: key square for the left, desired trophy for the right: this Sunday the eyes will look at, among other squares, the Valencian Community, where the right wants to oust the left after eight years in the Government, in for which the region has been the only one to approve its budgets in a timely manner and has been projected as an example of institutional stability.
