The king inaugurates this Monday the Mobile World Congress together with Sánchez and Aragonés
The king will inaugurate this Monday, together with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and that of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which intends to walk towards normality prior to the coronavirus pandemic and over which the related news will fly over with the Ukraine crisis.
Russia’s attack on this country was present in all the interventions of the highest authorities present at the dinner held the day before and which also brought together Felipe VI, Sánchez and Aragonès together with the mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, and the director general of the employers of the mobile industry GSMA, Matt Granryd.
Sánchez was especially harsh against the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, whom he described as a “satrap” who “is not going to get away with it”, while the king lamented the “unacceptable aggression” against Ukraine and Aragonès showed his “strong condemnation ” and asserted that “the independence of Ukraine and its people must be protected.”
The unity against Putin’s attitude was evidenced after, as on previous occasions in which they have coincided, the president of the Generalitat avoided being present at the welcome greeting to the king although they did talk later and shared the presidential dinner table .
The king and Sánchez highlighted the message of normality after the pandemic that launches the celebration of Mobile.
