Liberty Latin America celebrates the positive impact of its ‘Mission Week’ volunteer initiative


Liberty Latin America Ltd. (“Liberty Latin America” or “LLA”) (NASDAQ: LILA and LILAK, OTC Link: LILAB) is proud to share the positive impact of its second annual volunteer day Mission Week. The effort demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to giving back to its communities and supporting digital access for more people throughout the region. This year, the volunteer and community outreach week ran from November 15 to 19 and featured more than 1,250 employees in 20 countries who came together to serve the communities of Latin America and the Caribbean. The initiative reinforces the four pillars of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the company: learning, environment, access and disaster relief.

As a result of this year’s effort, Liberty Latin America employees contributed more than 4,000 hours of in-person and virtual volunteer service. The activities included the participation of 12,500 students through different learning activities; the planting of 1,000 trees; the collection of 4,500 pounds of trash in support of the environment and the donation of 1,400 electronic devices to provide greater digital access.

Michael Coakley, Vice President and Head of Communications for Liberty Latin America, marked the occasion by saying: “Our annual Mission Week volunteer initiative is critical to what our company stands for. We care deeply for our local communities and we know we have a responsibility to help. I am pleased to see the passion of our volunteers who shared their time, knowledge and experiences to bring valuable resources to those who need them most and impact the lives of thousands of people in our region. The Mission Week Liberty Latin America provided the opportunity for employees to work closely with the company’s charitable foundations: Cable & Wireless Charity Foundation, Cable & Wireless Panama Foundation, Flow Foundation of Jamaica, Liberty Puerto Rico Foundation and VTR Foundation. in addition to 80 partners throughout the region to extend support in the communities.

This December 5, when the world commemorated the International Volunteer Day, an international celebration sponsored by the United Nations to recognize volunteers around the world and all they do to make peace and sustainable development a reality. Provides an opportunity for organizations and individual volunteers to celebrate and thank the individuals who dedicate their valuable time and efforts to volunteer service. Liberty Latin America supports all those who have joined this United Nations celebration and celebrates the efforts of its employees and affiliates in Latin America and the Caribbean who volunteer their time and resources to their communities.
