Madrid will open the self-appointment on Friday to vaccinate those over 25 years old and next week those over 16

The Community of Madrid will open vaccination for the population from 16 years of age next week. Before, on Friday, July 9, it will open the self-citation system to the population between 25 and 29 years old. This was announced this Tuesday by the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero during his visit to one of the vaccination points located in the English Court of Arapiles street.

The population between 30 and 35 years old can already request a vaccination date from Tuesday through the self-appointment system. Young people from Madrid who are going to study abroad also have the option of requesting an appointment from today. The forecast is that from the beginning of next week it will be extended from the age of 16, Escudero has assured.

The Health Minister visited on Tuesday the vaccination point located at the El Corte Inglés facilities on Arapiles Street, which began this Monday to vaccinate its workers. Starting tomorrow, July 7, this point, like two other companies, Acciona and Santander, will be open to the general population.

During his visit, the counselor was accompanied by the former minister Fátima Báñez, at the head of the CEOE Foundation, who participates in the ‘Plan Sumamos. Salud + Economía ‘, together with CEIM and the Community of Madrid.

Madrid is at the tail of the administration of vaccines against Covid-19 with respect to the rest of the communities. It is the autonomy that has inoculated the least doses of those received, 87%, and keeps more than a million stored. The region governed by Ayuso is lagging behind and the regional government tries to overcome by outsourcing the service or vaccinating in the wee hours of the morning.
