The fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s recorded a net profit of $ 2,149.9 million in the third quarter of 2021, which is equivalent to an increase of 22% compared to the same period last year, as reported this Wednesday by the multinational.
Revenues between July and September were $ 6,201.3 million, 14% more.
Revenues from own restaurants grew by $ 14, to $ 2,598.4 million, while those originated by commissions and fees charged to franchisees stood at $ 3,510.2 million, 15% more.
If the global sales of all the restaurants in McDonald’s, including the billing of the franchises (which is not included in the income statement because they are different companies), the total brand’s revenues grew by 14%, to $ 29,948 million.
The operating expenses of the own stores grew 12%, up to $ 2,108.4 million, while the costs associated with the franchises stood at $ 592.6 million, 4%.
Selling, general and administrative expenses reached $ 559.6 million, 23% more.
In the first nine months of 2021, McDonald’s earned $ 5,906.4 million, 76% more than the net profits recorded in the same period last year.
On his side, between January and September it billed $ 17,213.8 million, 24% more.
