MEF and Deffi seek actions to get off the lists of non-cooperating countries and high-risk jurisdictions


A team of specialists from the Directorate of International Financial and Tax Strategy (DEFFI) of Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), held an update meeting with the foreign service of the Republic of Panama, about the actions carried out by the National government to get off the lists of non-cooperating countries and high-risk jurisdictions.

“The MEF responsibly works in conjunction with Foreign Relations to communicate the country’s efforts to comply with international standards and remove the country from the lists,” said the director of DEFFI, Isabel Vecchio-Arófulo.

At the meeting, held at the facilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and led by the Vice Chancellor Dayra Carrizo Castillero, The Panamanian diplomatic corps, ambassadors, consuls and representatives of the Government abroad, and the deputy director of DEFFI, were present. Tatiana German, who addressed issues related to Financial Action Task Force (GAFI), la Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Union (EU).
