The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) carried out the bidding for the best value for the project of Design, supply, construction and financing of modular bridges for progress and whose reference price is of $79,087,148.24.
During the public ceremony it was revealed that the Consorcio Puentes Modulares SA made up of the companies Constructora Urbana SA and Toronto Global Holding Corp., presented the only proposal for an amount of $ 78,913,000.00.
After culminating the public act, it was explained to the proponents that the files will be foliarized and will be delivered to the Evaluation Commission which is formally constituted.
It’s about building 50 modular bridges over various streams and rivers and the supply of 50 additional bridges according to requested measures, for the handling of unforeseen events and other needs within the country.
This project is intended to be carried out in the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Coclé, Comarca Ngäbe Buglé, Darién, Herrera, Los Santos, Panama and Veraguas
The proponent must develop all the necessary technical studies for the execution of the work such as: Topography, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, among others, and very particularly, for the design of the bridges or the road to be rehabilitated or built.
It is also included as an obligation of the successful tenderer, the development of the Environment Effect investigation with the approval before the competent authority; that is, the Ministry of the Environment.
The proponent must build or execute all the civil works necessary for the execution of the project, permanent and provisional, necessary during the execution period and deviations from pedestrian and vehicular traffic, both public and private.
Likewise, it must contemplate the construction and maintenance of temporary works and diversion works for vehicular and pedestrian traffic, both public and private, as well as the relocation of public services infrastructures, charged to the provision and conditions established.
The proponent must restore all public and private roads and spaces that need to be temporarily affected by the execution of the project, in conditions that allow the functionality and capacity necessary to be operational.
