The relationship between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos has not been good lately. Both moguls have been faced by a series of controversies between their companies SpaceX and Blue Origin, respectively.
The former CEO of Amazon has resorted to legal means to suspend a millionaire contract that Musk’s company had been awarded by NASA for the development of a lunar lander.
Of course, this did not sit well with the boss of Tesla, who has repeatedly upset Bezos over the series of lawsuits he has established in recent times. In fact, a few weeks ago, the mogul claimed that Bezos had left his position at Amazon to dedicate himself to suing him “full time.”
Now, the controversy has added another episode. During the Code 2021 tech event, Elon Musk sent a clear message to his rival in the space race.
“You can’t sue to get to the moon, no matter how good your lawyers are,” he said.
Musk thus responded to a question asked by journalist Kara Swisher, who referred to the lawsuit made by Blue Origin over the controversial contract between NASA and SpaceX.
It should be remembered that, recently, Amazon also protested SpaceX’s Starlink internet satellites before the Federal Communications Commission of the United States.
At the event, Musk also claimed that he had not spoken directly to Bezos about these legal woes. “Not verbally, just through tweets,” he added.
Finally, the billionaire was happy with the trips to space carried out by Bezos and Richard Branson themselves as “he thought it was great that they were spending money on the advancement of space,” he said.
In any case, he was quick to clarify that “the suborbital is only one step in the direction of orbit.”
