Publisher Electronic Arts has revealed Need for Speed Unboundthe next main game in the long-running racing game series. Need for Speed Unbound It will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on December 2, 2022. This game was leaked a few days ago before EA’s official reveal.
The new trailer showcased the game’s stylized, cel-shaded aesthetic, which almost resembles an anime and marks a major change of pace for the series. Need for Speed has generally leaned towards a more realistic art style, but this new game is going in a totally different direction.
According to the description of the game in the YouTube video, players will gain access to weekly challenges and even have to beat the cops.
Players who reserve Need for Speed Unbound they’ll get access three days early and get a handful of items too, though it looks like you’ll have to wait until the showcase later today before pre-orders go live.
The latest game in the series, Need for Speed Heatwas released in 2019 and was created by Ghost Games. Unbound is being worked on by racing game developer Criterion Games, the studio best known for creating the beloved Burnout series. Criterion has also developed Need for Speed games, including Most Wanted (2012) and Rivals (2013), but Unbound will mark the studio’s return to the series for the first time in nearly a decade.
