This Wednesday, July 13 through a statement, microsoft announced that it will be the next commercial partner of Netflix for your new advertising and subscription system.

Mikhail Parakhin, President of Web Experiences, Microsoft, said, “We’re delighted to be named Netflix’s technology and sales partner to help power its first ad-supported subscription offering.”

“At launch, consumers will have more options to access Netflix’s award-winning content. Marketers looking to Microsoft for their advertising needs will have access to Netflix’s audience and premium connected TV inventory. Today’s announcement also supports Microsoft’s Privacy approach, which is built on protecting customer information,” he added.

For his part, the COO of Netflix, Greg Peters, commented the following:

“In April we announced that we will introduce a new, lower-priced ad-supported subscription plan for consumers, in addition to our existing basic, standard and premium ad-free plans. Today we are pleased to announce that we have selected Microsoft as our global ad technology and sales partner.

“Microsoft has the proven ability to support all of our advertising needs as we build a new ad-supported offering together. More importantly, Microsoft offered the flexibility to innovate over time on both the technology and sales sides, as well as strong privacy protections for our members.

“It is very early and we have a lot to work on. But our long-term goal is clear: more choice for consumers and a premium, better-than-linear TV brand experience for advertisers. We are excited to work with Microsoft as we bring this new service to life.”
