Netflix has released a preview of The Witcher: Blood Origin, the new series that will be a prequel to the previous production of The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill.
According to the description of the video, the prequel is set in an elven world and occurs 1,200 years earlier than what was seen in the two existing seasons of The Witcher. “Blood origin is going to tell a story lost in time “, according to Netflix, “and it will explore the creation of the first witch prototype and the elements that lead to the Conjunction of the Spheres ”.
That Conjunction of the Spheres is a great event that occurred in the world of The witcher and that it allowed “the worlds of monsters, men, and elves to mingle and become one.”
The Witcher: Blood Origin It will star Michelle Yeoh, who will play the elf Scian in an adventure to recover a sacred sword that was stolen. Yeoh will be joined by Sophia Brown, Mirren Mack, Jacob Collins-Levy, Nathaniel Curtis, and Lizzie Annis. In the general production will be Declan de Barra, who was a writer in the original series and who this time will act as showrunner.
Apparently the idea of this series is to navigate other parts of the universe of The Witcher, that do not necessarily have to do with the three existing video games or the previous series. Because it is worth mentioning that the universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski is very large and offers enough space to expand.
The Witcher: Blood Origin It will premiere in 2022, on a date yet to be determined, and will be divided into six episodes in total.
