Netflix wins the rights to adapt Gears of War | Digital Trends Spanish


It was in November 2006 when Gear of Wars from Epic Games was released for Xbox 360, and almost 15 years later, Netflix has bought the rights to adapt the video game to streaming.

Since then it has become one of the most successful video game franchises, with more than 40 million copies sold in six separate installments.

The streamer will partner with The Coalition, the video game developer behind the title, and work with them to develop a film adaptation and animated series.

Gear of Wars is set on a planet on the brink of social collapse when a monstrous threat from below in the form of subterranean creatures known as the Locust brings humanity to the brink of extinction. Delta Squad, a fireteam team led by disgraced Sergeant Marcus Fenix, is now tasked with leading humanity’s last stand.
