Next-Gen PCIe 5.0 Memory to Showcase at CES 2022 | Digital Trends Spanish

The new PCIe 5.0 SSDs will be another product to be presented at CES 2022. Both Samsung and Adata anticipate the arrival of these memories, which will have twice the bandwidth compared to the previous generation PCIe 4.0.

On the Samsung side, they just announced an SSD drive focused on the business world. It is the PM1743, which has been developed in conjunction with Intel and for servers, data centers and more corporate environments. This memory has a sequential read speed of 13,000 MB / s, which implies an increase of 1.9 times compared to PCIe 4.0.

Additionally, PM1743 is 30 percent more energy efficient than Samsung’s previous generation.

Meanwhile, the Adata company presented a couple of PCIe 5.0-based products in prototype form. Dubbed Project Nighthaw, these memories deliver read and write speeds of 14 and 12 GB per second, respectively, with maximum sizes up to 8 TB.

Additionally, Adata announced a pair of PCIe 5.0-based DDR5 RAM units called the XPG Lancer RGB and XPG Caster RGB. Both have next-generation performance and are aimed at the segment of gamers who have relatively up-to-date and powerful equipment.

All these products will be present at CES 2022, at the respective stations of each company. Precisely, Samsung and Adata are among the brands that remain at the cannon’s foot with the Las Vegas event, unlike what happened with Meta, T-Mobile and Lenovo, who decided to subtract at the last minute due to what happens with the pandemic in the United States.
