Nintendo wants to take advantage of its brands to make movies and series and that is why it has acquired the CG production company Dynamo Picturesand will rename it to “Nintendo Pictures”, the company announced.
The new subsidiary “will focus on the development of visual content using Nintendo IP” and the “planning and production of visual content, including CG animation.” The company’s IMDB page lists credits on dozens of titles, including motion capture work on Death Stranding Y person 5and post-production work on Metroid: Other M.
This acquisition comes just before the release of an animated film based on the Super Mario Bros. franchise starring Chris Pratt.
Nintendo’s notice to shareholders says it is acquiring 100 percent of the outstanding shares of Dynamo Pictures, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the video game company. He expects the acquisition to close on October 3, 2022.
