One dead and 35 injured when two buses and a car collided in Granada

One person has died and 35 have been injured, seven of them seriously, when two passenger buses and a tourism collided while traveling on the A-92 at the height of Moraleda Zafayona (Granada), as reported Emergencies 112 Andalusia.

The event occurred minutes before 6 a.m. on Sunday, at which time several citizens called 112 to report that two buses and a car had collided at kilometer 210 of the A-92, in the direction of Malaga.

Alerts indicated that there were several injured and people trapped inside the vehicles. Immediately, the coordinating center has activated the Civil Traffic Guard, the Health Emergency Center (CES) 061, Civil Protection and the Consortium’s Fire Department.

As reported to Europa Press by the mayor of the town, María del Carmen Cantero, the City Council “has put all available means” at the service of the authorities, as well as detailing that “traffic is being restored in the area.”

“The rest of the passengers have stayed in a restaurant in the municipality. The incident occurred on the same highway. It seems that the two buses came from Madrid towards Algeciras (Cádiz) ”, he has indicated.

The 112 has also reported that the head of the 112 Emergency Service in Granada and a provincial technical advisor have traveled to the scene of the accident, who have confirmed that one person has died, there are seven serious injuries and 28 of various considerations.

The operatives continue to work in the area, so traffic at that point on the A-92 is restricted and an alternative detour has been set up along the service road.
