Oppo Find X5 and Find X5 Pro, first (very good) impressions | Digital Trends Spanish

This February 24, at an international event, the manufacturer Oppo presented its new saga of Find X5 phones led by the Oppo Find X5 Pro, which will be its flagship for 2022.

These phones will be the successors of the Oppo Find x3 that we met last year and yes, the manufacturer has skipped number 4 in its catalog for reasons of superstition and phonetics in its native country.

We were able to test both phones first hand before their official presentation and although it was not possible to test them thoroughly (something we will do later in our full review), our first feelings were very good. Here we tell you what these new Oppo devices have to position themselves as two of the best Android phones for this year.

Without microscope camera, but with Marisilicon X and Hasselblad

One of the most surprising novelties that we found in the Oppo Find X3 Pro was its microscopic camera. In these new models Oppo has not renewed that feature, but has included many more.

In the first place, Oppo has followed in the footsteps of OnePlus and has signed a collaboration with Hasselblad, who has been in charge of polishing the camera on both devices. And speaking of cameras in the Oppo Find X5 we have three sensors: two wide angle with 50 MP and a telephoto with 12 MP and 2x zoom.

The Pro model has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor and an identical wide angle one. It also mounts a 13 MP Samsung S5K3M5 sensor for telephoto.

Both phones are supported by the manufacturer’s Marisilicon X chip that was introduced at the end of last year and that greatly improves the camera functions. For example, the phone is capable of recording in 4K with night mode, giving truly amazing results.

The power of the Oppo Find X5 is handled by the Snapdragon 888 processor while the Pro model steps up with the latest Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

As for the design, we find reminiscences of the Find X3 Pro in the Find X5 Pro, especially for that camera module that is completely encapsulated in its glass back, as if it were covered by a kind of veil. Oppo has also launched a model in white ceramic material that is very nice and very different from what we are seeing on the market.

The Oppo Find X5 Pro incorporates a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3,216 x 1,440 pixels, 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate, compatibility with HDR10 and protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The Oppo Find X5 has the same screen, but with a size of 6.55 inches.

Both phones have 5G connectivity, fingerprint unlock on the screen and certification of resistance to water and dust (IP54 for the regular model and IP68 for the Pro model).

Price and availability

The phones come in two colors, black and white, and their price in Europe will be 999 euros for the Find X5 8 G + 256 GB and 1,299 euros for the Pro model with a single 12 GB + 256 GB configuration.
