Over 10 million Nigerians received at least 1 dose of Covid vaccine in 2021


10,310,476 Nigerians have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in 2021.

This was revealed in an online statement by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency on Friday.

The agency also revealed that 4,482,899 Nigerians received a second dose in 2021, this comes after the agency also approved booster shots for Nigerians in December 2021.

What the NPHCDA is saying

The report highlighted Nigeria’s covid vaccinations numbers as at December 30th 2021. It stated that 10,310,476 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with the first dose while 4,482,899 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with second dose (fully vaccinated).

According to the report, the total proportion of those fully vaccinated is still just 4.0%

On vaccine booster, Kano State leads with 16,006, followed by Lagos at 11,985, while the Federal Capital Territory has just 496 vaccine boosters given so far.

However, Lagos State leads with full vaccination with 772,643 persons who are fully vaccinated.
