The legal representation of Pablo Iglesias has appealed the closure of the instruction of the Dina case decreed by Judge Manuel García Castellón even before hearing the last three witnesses he has summoned in declaration. One of them is Commissioner Eugenio Pino, head of the political brigade and recipient of a copy of the card stolen from Dina Bousselham, according to Commissioner Villarejo, who assured that it was he himself who gave it to him, before its contents were published by various media.
Iglesias’s lawyer denounces, in this sense, that the piece of the Villarejo case “is orphaned in investigation” in terms of that delivery of the card by the commissioner to the person in charge of the Deputy Directorate of Operations of the Police. It contrasts, he adds, with the attention that García Castellón has paid to some “hypotheses” that lack “indictive basis”, in reference to the magistrate’s insistence on directing the investigation proceedings towards Pablo Iglesias as the alleged author of the damages presented by the card given to him by those responsible for Interviú and which he kept for months.
The lawyer Raúl Maíllo reminds the investigating judge that the European investigation order that he sent to Wales, directed to the technician who tried to recover the content of the mobile card, resulted in him declaring that when he received said device “it was physically intact” and that it was the Spanish Police themselves who informed the judge that the damage to the card was due to “excessive sanding, compatible with the technique used by laboratories specializing in information recovery.”
García Castellón focused on the alleged participation of Iglesias in the damage to the card instead of investigating the “main hypothesis” of the piece that the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Criminal Chamber pointed out to him, a higher instance than the aforementioned judge. These made it clear to him that the first line of investigation should address that the “criminal organization” of Villarejo, who had a copy of the device found in the registry of his house, would be behind the leak of information that could harm Podemos. in 2016.

Last week, the Scientific Police answered the judge that it is not possible to access the content of the card, which eliminated the possibility of attributing the damage caused by the device to Iglesias. It was then that in less than 48 hours the judge decreed that it was no longer necessary to continue investigating and agreed not to extend the investigation.
In his car, García Castellón went so far as to say that from the pending proceedings, including the statement by the head of the political brigade, it was not to be expected that “the need to analyze any other avenue of investigation would arise.” The other two statements correspond to Dina Bousselham, who has been wanting to tell the judge in person for a year and a half that she does not feel harmed by Iglesias’ actions, and her ex-partner, who was the one who sent the card to Wales.
