Panama registers 4,490 new positive cases of COVID-19; 87 patients are in ICU


In his report this Sunday Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) stressed that in the world 292,825,658 people have recovered and 5,677,601 people have lost their lives due to the virus.

For today in Panama there are 697,124 confirmed accumulated cases of Covid-19 and 4,490 new positive cases.

Until this afternoon’s cutoff, 17 new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 1 from a previous date has been reported for a cumulative to date of 7,716 deaths and a lethality of 1.1%.

The number of recoveries amounted to 620,672, with a total of 10,815 new recoveries and today 16,514 tests were applied for a positivity of 27.2%.

Meanwhile, the active cases total 68,667 while in home isolation 67,851, divided into 67,613 at home and 238 in hotels.

Those hospitalized add up to 885, in the room there are 798 people and 87 in the ICU.

The Ministry of Health reminds the population NOT TO LOWER THEIR GUARD and continue to apply biosafety measures, such as the use of the mask, alcohol gel, facial screen in public passenger transport, hand washing, physical distancing and the use of of alcohol.

In case of presenting symptoms related to the virus, the person should seek medical attention immediately and undergo a Covid-19 test.
